Heating the detailing studio is a key issue, especially during the autumn/winter season. Maintaining the right temperature not only affects working comfort, but also the quality of the service provided - the application of protective films, ceramic coatings or painting requires stable thermal conditions. Which heating solution works best in this type of location? Let's find out using EMLO heaters as an example.

Heating the detailing studio - what are the challenges?

Detailing workshops are often located in large, uninsulated halls where temperatures can drop quickly in winter. This creates several problems:

  • Low temperatures make PPF application more difficult - the film becomes stiff, more difficult to model and adheres less well to the surface.
  • Unsuitable conditions for ceramic coatings - at low temperatures, the drying of coatings is prolonged and their protective properties may be impaired.
  • Discomfort at work - Retailers spend long hours at their vehicles and the cold negatively affects their productivity and precision.

Heating the detailing workshop is therefore of considerable importance for the quality of the work performed as well as for the comfort of the employees. In the case of the hall in question, there was no problem with the insulation - it is a new building, well insulated, but nevertheless the differences in temperature and the drop in temperature after work could be a challenge.

EMLO heaters as heating for the detailing studio?

Luke from DPH Detailing, owner of a detailing studio, shared his experiences of using a heater EMLO 13. This is the smallest model of heater in our range and effectively heats both the workspace and office space in his workshop. What benefits has he noticed after a few months of use?

1. Efficient and inexpensive hall heating

EMLO heaters are characterised by high heating efficiency with relatively low fuel consumption.

This is an important advantage for owners of detailing studios who want to reduce operating costs. Our figures for fuel consumption and therefore heating costs proved to be incorrect. Luke confirmed that the daily workshop heating i office heating located above it costs him less than PLN 14.00 a day. He can easily calculate this because he takes diesel from the barrel he periodically fills up.

He also points out another major advantage of the unit being diesel-powered - refuelling and paying 'here and now'. This allows him to have more control over his heating expenses - previously, he heated the space with air conditioning and received periodical bills and calculating the heating costs was much more difficult - not to mention the efficiency of such a solution.

2. Heating of the deatiling workshop without raising dust

Traditional convection heating systems can cause dust and dirt to float, which is undesirable in a detailing environment. EMLO's heaters work in a point-to-point manner, delivering heat where it is needed most, without convection - so they do not cause dirt to float which could hinder the car detailing process and affect the quality of the car.

Importantly - EMLO heaters do not need additional ventilation systems. Luke says that in normal operation the appliance generates very small amounts of combustion products that are almost undetectable. What's more - he carried out a test with a CO2 meter and even asked a friend who specialises in such measurements to check it. It turns out that the heater does not emit any compounds which would be detected as having a negative impact on the occupants.

3. Optimum conditions for the application of protective films and ceramic coatings

The right temperature (15-25°C) is crucial for proper PPF film application. Thanks to the EMLO heater, it is possible to maintain stable conditions in the workshop, which facilitates application and ensures long-lasting paint protection. The heating of the detailing workshop directly translates in such cases into the final effect of the work on protecting the car.

4. mobility and ease of use

EMLO heaters are equipped with wheels and a robust housing, allowing the unit to be easily moved around the workshop as required. Luke stresses that in his case, the ability to move the heater is important because, depending on the configuration of the shop, there may be one or two cars being worked on. Therefore, in order to make the most effective use of the heat from the heater, it happens to move it (even though the unit has its 'fixed' place in the workshop).

Based on the experience of a detailing studio owner, EMLO heaters are proving to be an effective solution for heating detailing workshops.

They provide the right working temperature, improve comfort and increase the quality of the service provided. If you run a detailing studio and are looking for a cost-effective way to heat your space, EMLO heaters are worth considering.
